maxframe.liteframe.LiteFrame.from_local_df#

static LiteFrame.from_local_df(df, chunk_size=None, gpu=None, session=None, default_index_type=None)#

Create a LiteFrame from a local pandas DataFrame or similar object.

Column names are normalized to lowercase to make internal storage case-insensitive, and duplicate names after normalization raise a ValueError. Dtypes are inferred from the input.

Parameters:
  • df (pandas.DataFrame or DataFrame-like) – Local DataFrame to wrap. Must have a columns attribute and support .dtypes if not a pandas DataFrame.

  • chunk_size (int, optional) – Desired chunk size for the tiled result. If None, a default is chosen by the backend.

  • gpu (bool, optional) – Whether the data should be placed on GPU. If None, the backend default is used.

  • session (Session, optional) – Session to use for execution. If None, the default session is used when available.

  • default_index_type (str, optional) – Index type for the resulting LiteFrame. If None, a default is chosen by the backend.

Returns:

A lazy LiteFrame with Arrow dtypes wrapping the local data. Call .execute() to materialize the results.

Return type:

LiteFrame
